This is a rare opportunity to own these background-style prop golden coins just like the ones used in the movie! These coins were produced by the same manufacturer of the coins used in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. The production opted for this style of plastic coins so that not only could they fill a large area cheaply but also their light plastic construction meant that they could be thrown around safely during action scenes without harming the cast members. As these coins come from the same fabricators as the originals, they are ideal for on-screen or display use.

Note: This listing is for 5 prop plastic coins like the ones pictured which are chosen at random. These light coins are made of a gold-coated plastic and feature the words ‘Veni Vidi Vici’ over a Roman emperor’s head. This is one of several different designs of coins known to be used as background coins in the Spider-Man films.

Important Note: As this style of coin is meant for background use and stunt sequences they are by no means perfect, some have silver or darker discolouration in places as well as other imperfections from the plastic casting processes. We have tried to illustrate some of these defects in the pictures like chipped edges or marks where the coins are extracted from the molds and expose the darker grey plastic underneath etc… Anyone looking for a mint hero coin, these rough and ready coins are not for you!

Trivia: Tobey Maguire's participation was in doubt at one point because he was suffering severe back pains. Jake Gyllenhaal, was lined up to play Spider-Man and had already begun preparation, but Maguire decided to take part after all. However, according to the DVD commentary, the "My back!" joke after Peter falls from the roof was purely coincidental, as it was written into the script before Maguire's problem arose. Gyllenhaal would go on to play Spider-Man's enemy Mysterio fifteen years later in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).
